 Long, long ago, when kings were ruling Sri Lanka, there lived a famous court jester by the name of Andare. By his many tricks and witty jests, he amused the queen and the kingat all times of the day. He was therefore allowed much liberty at the court. One morning, when he went to the palace, he saw some sugar spread out to dry, on a mat in an inner courtyard. He pretended not to know what it was and asked the queen, “, what is this stuff on the mat?” “It is a kind of white sand, Andare,” replied the queen. “Do you want some of it?” “Oh, no my lord; not so soon,” said Andare and immediately thought of a cunning plan to eat the sugar. When he returned home that evening, he told his wife and son of the sugar in the palace and his plan to eat it up. The following morning he gave instructions to his son, and off to the palace he went. The queen happened to be once again in the same courtyard. The sugar had been again put out to dry. The queen and Andare were soon in deep conversation ...

  I have a pet cat its name is buri .he is a male cat and three years old .buri is a white and grey in colour. he likes to eat fish and drink milk but he he don't like to eat rice and curry .he don't like to play with me but he likes to play with ball in the garden sleep in a small bed. buri is a very playful and friendly cat he is more than a family member to US and everyone loves him. it don't likes to take a bath buri always put a friendly fight with our neighbours cat sometimes he hurt with her nails he is not be angry like some cats I want to cash like bulls rats field I love my pet very much and take care of it. My parents died when I was in my childhood. I was alone with my younger brother in the terrible orphanage. The owner of the orphanage used to sell the orphans for a few farthings. However, it was my destiny to leave my younger brother. Since that day, I could not even imagine my brother's ace .I was sold to many houses as a labourer. this house is my worst working place as my master is very cruel. Writing diary is my best relief maintain my mental well-being. My daily routine starts at 3.00 a.m. The house contains a lot of labourers like me. My first task is to make breakfast for the master's family. It is very hard to make them happy. Everyday, i have to be punished at the breakfast time. They expect some more from a small child like me. It os unfair ro beat me like that way. I always memorize my younger brother. My salary is insufficient to buy even a loaf of bread. I am being healed when I am writing my diary. I have to go for searching firewood, wash pans, feed kids and to ...

The Wheel has been an essential part of human life from the very early years of human civilization. The wheel can be best described as a circular object rotates on an axial bearing. The aerliest wheels known to bee wooden disks with a hole in the middle for the axle.The word wheel first came from an old english word. Sanskrit, The wheel is called chakra to mean round or circle. It is believed that the wheel first originated  around 3500 BC in Mesopotamia (Part of modem - day Irag ) where it was used for  chasriots.Some argue that it was invented by the Mesopotamians, the Northern caucasus and central Europeams.Therefore, the issue of where the wheel originated in still remains a mystery.   Yakarawatta Purana Siddha Pattini Tampita Devalaya is one of the oldest and respected Pattini Devalaya in the Kurunegala District. This devalaya lies at the Yakarawatta village in the Kuliyapitiya West PS division. According to legend, Yakarawatta Devalaya is over 500 years old. When a cluster of villages around Yakarawatta was experiencing frequent infectious diseases and difficulties in raising children, a group of villagers had gone to the Nawagamuwa Pattini Devalaya and had received a golden anklet of Pattini and a golden mango. They had brought these two relics and kept them on a Kebella tree log at this location and performed the necessary rituals.
